0.067mm Heavy Formvar pickup wire is customized magnet wire, with a smooth and uniform thin insulating layer. Heavy Formvar has excellent mechanical properties such as abrasion resistance and flexibility. It is considered "Vintage Correct", mainly used for winding guitar and bass pickups.

1.Very good solderability and high thermal properties
2.The wire can be customized, including insulation thickness and conductor diameter, etc.
3.Heavy Formvar coating is a vintage style coating that was used frequently in pickups made in the 50’s and 60’s.
The pickup wire is wrapped around the bobbin assembly. The fine wire is either machine wound or hand wound depending on specification or tone desired by manufacturer. Different pickups utilize more or less turns of copper wire. This is one way that manufacturers can change the output and tonality of a pickup design. Coils generally have from 6,000 to 8,500 turns.
• Machine Winding – a machine spins the bobbin and moves back and forth at a regular pace, distributing the wire evenly across the bobbin.
• Hand Winding – a machine spins the bobbin, but the magnet wire goes through the hands of an operator who distributes the wire along the bobbin. This is how the earliest pickups were wound.
• Scatter Winding (Also called Random Wrap) – a machine spins the bobbin, and the magnet wire goes through the hands of an operator who distributes the wire along the bobbin in an intentionally scattered or random pattern.

Our Pickup Wire started with an Italian customer several years ago, after a year of R&D, and half-year blind and device test in Italy, Canada, Australia. Since lauched into markets, Ruiyuan Pickup Wire won a good reputation and has been chosen by over 50 pickups clients from Europe, America, Asia, etc.
We supply specialty wire to some of the world's most respected guitar pickup makers.
The insulation is basically a coating that is wrapped around the copper wire, so the wire doesn’t short itself out. Variations in insulation materials have a huge effect on a pickup’s sound.
We mainly manufacture Plain Enamel, Formvar insulation polysol insulation wire, for the simple reason that they just sound best to our ears.
The thickness of the wire is usually measured in AWG, which stands for American Wire Gauge. In guitar pickups, 42 AWG is the one that’s most commonly used. But wire-types measuring from 41 to 44 AWG are all being used in the construction of guitar pickups.
